What has been happening:
CTH C has been pulverized from Exeter to Oakwood. Please be advised there is loose gravel and rough road conditions. These conditions will exist throughout the week of November 7. You are reminded to exercise caution, obey the posted speed limit signs, flaggers and use the posted alternate route.

The walking path on the East side of CTH C has been paved. Please do not walk on the path until it is complete. Heavy equipment machinery will be working on the path.
The east half of the bridge deck is complete with the final handset field stone masonry being installed.

SPECIAL NOTICE:
AS OF OCTOBER 1, 2016, WISCONSIN STATE LAW PROHIBITS THE USE OF CELL PHONES WHILE DRIVING WITHIN CONSTRUCTION ZONES. THE CTH C WORKZONE EXTENDS FROM OAKWOOD TO MILL ST. PLEASE OBEY THE LAW!

PLEASE BE ADVISED MAJOR DELAYS MAY RESULT DURING CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS. Travel will be restricted to one lane under flagging from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm throughout the remainder of the month. It is strongly suggested that motorists use the posted ALTERNATE ROUTE.

What is coming up:
The grading crew will continue work on CTH C grading for asphalt pavement. Anticipated paving for roadway will be late in the week of November 7 into the week of November 14. Curb and gutter and sidewalk will be poured the week of November 7. Restoration will be ongoing through the end of the project.

Important notice
The new sidewalk on the west side of CTH C is CLOSED from Mill St. to Church St. DO NOT ENTER THE WORKZONE or use the sidewalk until it is formally opened. No parking is allowed on either side of Genesee St from Mill St. to Milwaukee St. Violators will be towed at the owner’s expense.


There have been reports that motorists have waited through a couple of cycles for the lights to change. YOU can help avoid this issue by following these easy steps:

  • Obey the law!¬† Do not run a red light.
  • Stop at the line indicated by the “Stop Here on RED” sign and wait for the light to change.
  • DO NOT turn right on red going south from Exeter

During construction, trucks, equipment and personnel are moving throughout the project limits. Motorists are strongly encouraged to use the posted alternate route. Delays are to be expected.  Obey the traffic signals, flaggers and 25 mph speed limit while driving through the construction zone. Motorists, pedestrians and bikes are not allowed behind the barrels, barricades, fenced /taped off areas.

R.A. Smith National has been retained by Waukesha County to oversee the construction of this project.

Work will be completed by Musson Brothers and their sub-contractors scheduled to begin the week of June 6, 2016 and running through late fall of 2016.

The work includes the replacement of the bridge over the Bark River, mill race culverts, storm sewer, roadway widening, new pavement, curb and gutter, pedestrian path,  landscaping, streetscaping and lighting.
