R.A. Smith National Adds Heather Patti as Ecologist, Project Manager

Heather PattiBROOKFIELD, WIS. – R.A.Smith National – a multi-disciplined civil engineering and surveying firm – Brookfield, Wis., has added Heather Patti to its staff as an ecologist and project manager. Heather is certified as a Professional Wetland Scientist with the Society of Wetland Scientists, and is one of only a few Assured Wetland Delineators with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. She has more than 15 years of experience as a restoration ecologist and conservation biologist. Heather has a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a master’s degree in botany from North Carolina State University.

With the addition of Heather Patti, R.A.Smith National has expanded its integrated design approach to include the following ecological services: assured wetland delineation; habitat restoration and mitigation; native planting design; natural area assessments and restoration; permitting; rare and endangered species surveys; stewardship plans; wetland analysis, treatment and design; and wetland restoration and mitigation.

Heather brings an ecological outlook to the design process, from the preliminary design phases of a project through post-construction. She works with clients to assess their wetland, waterway, and habitat site design needs; writes permits and secures approvals; and assists with consensus building and project design.

Heather will work closely with the firm’s engineers, landscape architects and surveyors to serve a wide range of public and private sector clients, including developers, government, lake districts/associations, non-profits, private industry, real estate professionals, utilities and others.

The addition of ecological services strongly complements R.A. Smith National’s comprehensive services which include site planning, site engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, irrigation design, water resource engineering, bridges/structural, transportation, municipal engineering, GIS, visualization and 3D laser scanning.
