Milwaukee School of Engineering - Milwaukee, Wisconsin
R.A. Smith National's staff provided structural engineering services for this unique event parking structure at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). This fixture on the MSOE campus features three levels of parking (756 spaces), retail space, and a top level NCAA soccer field. This 382,000 square foot structure takes up an entire city block with a construction cost of $24.5 million.
With two parking entrances and exits on opposite sides of the structure, which is built on a sloping grade, tenants are able to enter and exit on different levels. The multiple entry and exit points allow for rapid exit after Veits Field events. The front of the structure boasts five separate retail storefronts, containing a total of 9,800 square feet of commercial space within the footprint of the structure.
The top level of this parking structure features the Pamela and Hermann Veits Field, a NCAA-grade soccer field complete with AstroTurf and spectator seating.
