Project Overview
Built in 1937, the two-lane bridge on Lilly Road over the Menomonee River had deteriorated and needed to be replaced. raSmith provided construction inspection for this $1.1 million project, which included piling, concrete girders, storm sewer, asphalt pavement and markings, guardrail, approach slabs, riprap, curb & gutter, signing, and landscaping. A 6.5-foot-wide sidewalk was added on both sides of the bridge for safety and connectivity to other sidewalks and paths. The project also incorporated a wildlife corridor for animal passage.
