Project Overview
North Park sits on 2.2 acres and serves as a popular destination for residents and visitors in Sturtevant, Wisconsin. The Village realized updating and adding features to the existing park would benefit those within the community and surrounding area.
raSmith collaborated with the Village and other stakeholders to provide surveying, civil engineering, and landscape architecture services to help bring this project to life. A topographic and utility survey was performed to support the renovations with key data. raSmith also provided construction documents, permitting, coordination, bidding, and construction inspection and layout services.
The park improvements include expanding the basketball court to a full-size, dual-use basketball and pickleball court with a new surface; upgrading the existing gravel walkways to concrete with a landscaped centerpiece; developing a tree-planting plan to selectively remove and replace overgrown and diseased trees while retaining the park’s character; and coordinating with the Village to incorporate a stage and amphitheater. Additionally, the park will include three new play equipment areas and bag toss. This project will expand the park’s outdoor recreational opportunities for people to enjoy.
