Tom Mortensen
Tom Mortensen will be presenting at the Sweet Water 14th Annual Clean Rivers, Clean Lake Conference on Thursday, April 26.
Mortensen’s presentation, “Nature Ignores Design that Ignores Nature,” reflects his philosophy that nature and design can successfully work together. Topics will include:
- Site planning and design approaches, principles, pitfalls and roadblocks when trying to preserve and integrate established landscapes and stormwater systems into designed environments
- Similarities of historical patterns and designed/ manipulated patterns of hydrology and landscape
Mortensen, PLA, ASLA, is the assistant director of land development services at raSmith, as well as a site planner and landscape architect.
