Project Overview
This $2.2 million project involved the resurfacing and reconstruction design of Lilly Road from Silver Spring Road to Mill Road. The purpose of the project was to improve pavement condition, address traffic at the Lilly Road intersection with Manhardt Road, replace traffic signal equipment and construct a multi-use path.
From Silver Spring Drive to the Union Pacific Railroad, the existing Lilly Road pavement was milled and overlayed. Within the reconstruction section from the Union Pacific Railroad to just north of Manhardt Drive, Lilly Road was reconstructed and the typical section was modified from a rural section with ditches for drainage to an urban section requiring the addition of a storm sewer to convey stormwater runoff.
Left and right turn lanes were added to this section of Lilly Road to improve traffic flow. A new traffic signal was constructed at the Lilly Road intersection with Manhardt Drive. The pavement on Lilly Road from just north of Manhardt Drive to Mill Road was pulverized and overlayed with new asphalt. The traffic signal at the intersection of Lilly Road and Mill Road was replaced.
