Project Overview
National developer Westfield Corporation was embarking upon an $800 million shopping center redevelopment in Orange County, California. Not unlike other shopping center projects completed by raSmith, our civil engineers thought outside the box.
Creative solutions were developed to provide a site design that accommodates this high-density build, including the best use of limited space for water quality design, parking and site infrastructure. Value engineering was used to save the developer money and ensure that they received the result they wanted while meeting all local requirements.
Understanding Westfield Corporation’s vision and expectations for the Century City Mall project have been paramount to raSmith’s successful site design of this multi-phase project.
The new Century City experience includes a new 1.2 million-square-foot, three-level Nordstrom flagship store, a completely remodeled three-level Bloomingdale’s, a new two-level Macy’s and 422,000 square feet of premium retail space and restaurants.
