raSmith collaborated with Milwaukee World Festival, Inc., EUA (Eppstein Uhen Architects), and other stakeholders to provide landscape architecture services for the new Aurora Pavilion at Henry Maier Festival Park (Summerfest) in Milwaukee, Wis. A redevelopment of one of the many popular stages, the Aurora Pavilion will feature new amenities and has been renamed after Summerfest’s exclusive health care sponsor, Aurora Health Care. The Aurora Pavilion will provide a community gathering place for cultural programming, diverse musical performances, and events focused on healthy living.

The new amenities will amplify the experience for audiences attending performances and events. Enhancements will include improved accessibility for people with mobility limitations, a new hospitality area, a widened entrance for increased capacity, new loading and bus parking areas, and a backstage artist production support area. The Aurora Pavilion will be open when Summerfest begins on June 20, 2024.

“We have enjoyed the opportunity to continue our ongoing partnership with Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. and EUA by working together on this exciting project at Summerfest,” said Tom Mortensen, PLA, ASLA, raSmith site planner / landscape architect. “The new design will improve access and enhance the space for visitors.”

raSmith has also worked with Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. and EUA on other projects at Summerfest including Northwestern Mutual Community Park, BMO Pavilion, the Millenium Momentum project, the South Gate, and other developments. Henry Maier Festival Park is home to Summerfest, ethnic and cultural festivals, and other community events held throughout the summer.
