Project Overview
Bayview Park along Chequamegon Bay provides beautiful panoramic views of Lake Superior and serves as an important community asset, offering activities such as fishing, swimming and the annual Bay Days festival. The park’s fishing pier was in disrepair and did not meet ADA standards for accessibility.
The site planners and landscape architects at raSmith worked with a local engineering firm to conduct a series of public input sessions for a new ADA-compliant pier. From these sessions, alternative concepts were developed and a final concept plan was prepared and presented to the City of Ashland and project stakeholders for approval.
