Project Overview
The site planners/landscape architects at raSmith collaborated with the Village of Whitefish Bay on the development of Consaul Commons, a community public plaza in the heart of the Village. The space was an underutilized, “pass-through” area that the Village wanted to activate into a year-round space for public use. It could potentially hold a variety of events hosted by the Merchants of Whitefish Bay, Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation and other community organizations.
Through a series of public engagement/open house meetings, engagement with local business owners, municipal website surveys and local outreach at civic events, the landscape architects at raSmith developed three distinct concept plans that were then synthesized into a final master plan. The final master plan included budgetary estimates for the construction costs, which will be funded by the local TID funds and contributions by a local developer.
