Project Overview
The landscape architects at raSmith designed the site for this 108-unit, state-of-the-art senior residential community located on Janesville Road in Muskego, Wisconsin. Heritage offers independent living, assisted living, enhanced assisted living and memory care along with programs for residents including social activities, entertainment events, tenant outings and outdoor community amenities.
The outdoor environment features a patio area with a fire pit and shade pergola located outside of the main dining hall. An interior courtyard with meandering walkways, seating areas and perennial gardens was designed for memory care patients. A water feature welcomes residents and visitors at the main entry/drop-off area, and a looped path throughout the site gives residents a place for exercise and outdoor enjoyment. The project team also provided technical guidance to preserve and protect a 100-year old bur oak tree, which is an iconic focal point on the site.
